Love Letters to Photography

Reflections 10-17-2025

Sometimes when i pick up a camera i don’t know what i will be taking photos of, I Simply let my camera guide me. the camera and i Communicate Nonverbally and sometimes that results in great photos. I compare it to Freeform jazz , each time i press the shutter it’s like beautiful notes playing from a sax.

After years of working like this i noticed a Reoccurring theme Through my work. today’s theme is Mirrors. from self portraits to still life photos i will always use a mirror as a prop. Again i’m not too sure why, but I can’t help myself whenever i see one.

For years i have always loved to walk around random neighborhoods and scout for places to do photo shoots. Sometimes as i am walking i will always see classic cars and look at every Possible angel to take a photo of it. I guess growing up in the south seeing cars like this is apart of the culture, even my grandma would drive classic jaguars when i was younger and i was Obsessed with everything about it. The hood Ornament the red leather seats and the silver rims are forever etched in my mind. Since she is no longer here taking these photos remind me of her love for cars, and a big part of me knows she would have asked me to print every last one of them for her.

I have a little zip drive with photos that go as far back to 2018, the year i started photography. Every now and then i like to look at them and Reminisce about my first time picking up a film camera. The first time i took photos i walked around downtown West Palm Beach. I shoot the entire roll of film and got it developed (which was so expensive at the time) and when i got the photos back i knew that i wanted to only shoot film.

Views from the catacomb 2019

From 2016 to 2020 I lived in Riviera Beach FL. While Staying in the Raw I was diving deeper into photography. Constantly reading about the many ways i can work with film, and teaching myself how to properly use a camera. Day in and day out i was in my room creating, Which would Eventually lead me to creating my first body of work BLISS VOLUME I (Madman’s Theory) .

Me being the geek that i am I love thought it would be cool to name any place i make art. Since i am such a Outkast fan i Remembered they made music in a studio called the Dungeon. I was trying to think of names that would stick, something that could connect to my project. So I called it the catacomb where i had to mourn the old Habits i have become accustomed to and let go of the old version of me.
